2012 Alma Results

The official results are in from the Alma Highland Festival on Saturday and Sunday May 26 and 27.

Congratulations in particular to the following bands:

  • City of Chicago - US Open Champions, Grade 1
  • Great Lakes - US Open Champions, Grade 2
  • Windsor Police - US Open Champions, Grade 3
  • 87th Cleveland - US Open Champions, Grade 4
  • Alma College - US Open Champions, Grade 5

Jim Enright, Sr.

We are saddened to announce the passing of Jim Enright, Sr. on Wednesday April 18th, 2012.

Jimmy was a founding member of the MWPBA as well as a long time member of the Shannon Rovers Pipe Band.  Jimmy was also a founding member of the Chicago Metropolitan Pipe Band and the Chicago Celtic Pipe Band.  

Jimmy was a fixture in the pipe band scene and a past Board Member of the MWPBA.  Jimmy was always willing to help in any way he could. Jimmy's 4 children all currently play in pipe bands. Jimmy truly loved pipe bands. Jimmy's smiling face behind his bass drum will be sorely missed. What more can be said than Jimmy was a great friend and was a friend to many, many people. We will miss you, Jimmy Enright.

Jimmy will be waked on Friday April 20th from 3-9 at the Smith Corcoran Funeral Home located at 6150 N. Cicero in Chicago.  The Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 on Saturday April 21st at St. Juliana's.


2012 Missouri Tartan Day Solo Drumming Contest results
