Thank you to everyone who came out to support the 2022 Chicago Scottish Festival & Highland Games on June 18!
As part of their Scottish Arts Summer School program, Lyon College is hosting a piping competition on Saturday July 23rd for all amateur grades, open to all solo members and reciprocal members of the MWPBA.
This will be treated as a standard MWPBA sanctioned solo event, and regular MWPBA Champion Supreme points will be awarded.
The judges are Willie McCallum and Jimmy Bell.
The address is 2300 Highland Rd, Batesville, AR 72501, and the competition shall kick-off at 8:00am. Lunch will be provided on the Saturday. On Sunday 24th, there will be a free 1/2-day workshop.
Use the regular "Enter a Solo Contest" form to register for the event.
The MWPBA realizes that not all bands may have a Drum Major, and therefore may not be familiar with standard DM voice and mace commands.
This short and simple MWPBA Massed Band Commands 101 may help, which contains a brief overview of the standard commands at MWPBA massed bands.
The Chicago Scottish Festival and Highland Games will be held on June 17-18, 2022, at Hamilton Lakes in Itasca, IL
Band Orders of Play are here.
Solo Orders of Play are here.
All solo competitions are on Friday, June 17 except Group Tenor & Drum Major, which will occur on Saturday following the band competitions.
Please ensure that every solo competitor check in with each of their station stewards on Friday, and that a band representative is at the MWPBA tent for a meeting at 8:45 a.m. on Saturday.
Safe travel to all of our competitors, adjudicators, volunteers, and spectators!
