The fifth annual Balmoral Classic, featuring the US Junior Solo Highland Piping and Snare Drumming Championships, is scheduled for Saturday, November 12, 2011 in Oakland, the heart of Pittsburgh¿s museum and university district. There will be three first place piping trophies (Overall Winner, Piobaireachd, and MSR Winners), and three drumming trophies (Overall, MSR, Hornpipe and Jig). Bagpiping winners in MSR and Piobaireachd events will each receive a set of new bagpipes donated by McCallum and Inveran bagpipe manufacturers. The Overall drumming winner will receive a Premier HTS 800 snare drum donated by Henderson Imports of Traverse City, Michigan. Medals, scholarships, and additional prizes will be awarded to the first five places in each piping and drumming event, similar to those of previous years.
