Balmoral School of Piping and Drumming summer sessions present excellent opportunities for pipers and drummers to improve their knowledge and skills through a week of intensive, personalized instruction in small groups of 3-5 students with master instructors: St. Paul, MN session (June 17-22): Brian Donaldson, Willie McCallum, John Wilson, and Richmond Johnston (bagpiping), and Hunter Gullickson (drumming); Naperville, IL session (June 24-29): Brian Donaldson, John Wilson and Scot Walker (bagpiping), and Michael Eagle and Ian Gibson (drumming).
Piping students will receive 3-4 small classes each day, plus evening workshops on bagpipe maintenance, tuning, creating great tone and expression, improving memorization and sight reading skills, mass band sessions, student recitals, instructors’ concert, and more. Drumming students’ weekly schedule is similar. Bagpiping and drumming at all ages and levels of expertise are welcomed. There is an early registration discount as well as significant discounts for four or more band members in attendance, and scholarships are available for young pipers with demonstrated skills who need assistance. Visit www.BalmoralSchool.org for more information and registration.
The MWPBA 2011 Overall Winners in Amateur Grades 1, 2, and 3 receive full tuition scholarships to the 2012 Balmoral summer session of their choice.
