Contests 2016a

All MWPBA sanctioned contests are open to the following:

Member bands and member soloists in good standing of the MWPBA, and
Member bands and member soloists in good standing of another association of ANAPBA, or any other association properly recognized by the MWPBA Advisory Board.

Champion Supreme points are awarded only to MWPBA member bands and MWPBA individual members in regular season competitions with official sanctioned status. Events at Champion Supreme games are awarded double points. Where multiple events are offered at a standard sanctioned games, available points are split between the events.

The music requirements (described here) for each band contest is shown, either

QMM – Quick March Medley
MSR – March, Strathspey, and Reel
Medley – Timed Medley

Regional Solos Contest Qualifiers: Feb 20 – Alma, MI Feb 27 – Lexington, KY Mar 05 – Milwaukee, WI Mar 05 – Kansas City, MO Apr 02 – St. Paul, MN Final: April 09 – Palatine, IL	Terry McHugh Memorial Solo Piping Contest Solo piping only for regional qualifiers All Amateur Grades in light music piping. The top 3 qualifiers in each GRADE (not event) will qualify to play at the finals to be held in Chicago (Palatine). See entry form for details, locations, and for closing dates for entries. (all regional piping winners will be automatically entered into the Terry McHugh Memorial Solo Piping Contest finals in Chicago after the conclusion of the Regional Contests)
Final: April 09 – Palatine, IL	Jim Enright, Sr. Memorial Solo Drumming Contest All Amateur Grades in snare, tenor, and bass drumming.
