The Milwaukee Scottish Pipe Band is pleased to announce its inaugural Fall Highland Gathering – Traditional Scottish Ceilidh and Solo Piping Competition – to be held on Saturday, October 5, 2013 starting at 5 p.m. at Klemmer’s Banquet Center, 10401 West Oklahoma Avenue, Milwaukee, WI.
The Fall Highland Gathering features a splendid family-style, two-entrée ceilidh dinner followed by 3 hours of live entertainment: Pipe bands, Highland dancing, Ceilidh music, and “sangs and clatter”! Featured entertainers include the Milwaukee Scottish Pipe Band, Ceol Cairde, Caledonian Scottish Dancers, Chicago Celtic Pipe Band, Madison Pipes and Drums, Greater Milwaukee Fire & Police Pipes and Drums, and Clan Donald Pipes and Drums. Additionally, there will be information booths, a raffle, and silent auctions.
The Solo Piping Competition, held simultaneously in the lower level, is the first of its kind in the area. The competition features both Amateur and Open grade pipers. A qualified adjudicator will determine the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in each segment, with awards of cash prizes and special 1st place trophy.
