2016 Alma Order of Play

The Order of Play for both bands and soloists has been determined for the Alma Highland Games and Festival on May 28 and 29.  Please select the appropriate link; the soloist order of play document is two pages long as it covers two days of solo competitions in both piping and drumming.

2016 MWPBA Professional Solos Results and Videos

Andrew Lewis of St. Paul, Minnesota, was the overall winner of the inaugural Midwest Pipe Band Association Professional Solo Piping Contest, held at the Presbyterian Church of Palatine, Illinois, on May 14, 2016 (see also p|d article).

Contestants submitted four piobaireachds and four MSR sets, with one of each picked by judges Brian Donaldson and Donald McBride.

The overall results are as follows.

2016 Professional Solo Piping Contest Order of Play

The Inaugural MWPBA Professional Solo Piping Contest's order of play is available here.

 

The judging panel for the contest is as follows:

Light Music (MSR) - Donald McBride

 

The contest will be held on May 14 at the Presbyterian Church of Palatine, in Palatine, IL.  The church is located at 800 E. Palatine Rd., Palatine, IL; doors open at 1:00 p.m.. An admission fee of $5.00 will be collected for spectators of the contest.

 

The first event starts at 2:30 p.m.; we hope to see you there!

Jim Enright, Sr. Memorial Solo Drumming Contest Cancelled for 2016

The Jim Enright, Sr. Memorial Solo Drumming Contest has been cancelled for 2016 due to lack of entries.  Thank you everyone for your interest, and entry fee refunds will be provided to the drumming contestants that did enter.

 

The Terry McHugh Memorial Solo Piping Contest will still take place on April 9 in Palatine, IL.  The order-of-play will be out shortly for that event.

 

2016 Midlothian Scottish Pipe Band Fundraiser

The Midlothian Scottish Pipe Band will be holding their Annual Fundraiser at Fitz's Spare Keys in Elmhurst, Illinois on Saturday, April 9th at 7:00 p.m.
